高出力バッテリーと、ESCのデフォルト設定

今回はバッテリ－のお話！
イーグルのラインナップにも高出力のバッテリーが増え、最近の主力バッテリーは軒並み高出力になっております。
放出性のいいバッテリーはバッテリーの持てる力を存分に発揮し、パンチのある走りを生み出してくれる反面、放出力が高いゆえに、使用中の瞬間的な電圧降下も大きくなります。

そして、昨今主力になってきているLi-Po,Li-Feバッテリーのために、多くのESCは、降下電圧が設定値に到達すると、警告や送電停止をする機能を備えています。

多くのESCには、機能として、Autoと任意に電圧を設定できるモードが搭載されています。
そして、デフォルト値ではAutoに設定されているのですが、そのAuto状態で設定されている電圧がいくつになっているかちゃんと把握していますか？

Li-Poの場合は3.125V、Li-Feの場合は2.3Vが下限
つまり、その電圧より少しでも下がってはいけないのです。

もし、初期設定状態で、3.0V以下の電圧設定がされていて、Li-Poバッテリーを使用してしまったら？
次回以降の充電時に発火や膨張の危険性が急激に高まります。

そうならない為にも、使用する前に説明書をよく読み、設定されている電圧が何Vなのかを把握しておきましょう！

もし、低すぎる電圧が設定されているのであれば任意設定を使用し、適切な電圧を設定しましょう。

目安として、低出力(55C以下程度)のLi-Poの場合、3.2～3.3V程度
65C以上の場合は3.3V以上に設定しましょう。ただし、これは警告系のシステムの場合であり、Novak製品のように、設定電圧を下回らないように、送電自体を停止するESCであれば、3.125Vより高い設定であれば大丈夫です。
LEDや、ブザー等の警告の場合、警告を出し始めてすぐに気づけるかも分かりませんし、送電停止を行わない以上、ユーザーがコントロールする必要がありますので、早めに停止させるためにも、高い電圧で警告を発生させた方が安全に使用できます。

より安全で、簡単に使用する為には、送電を停止するシステムを導入しておく方が確実でしょう。
でも、ESCによっては送電を停止するまでのシステムを搭載していない場合もあります。
そこで、送電停止のみの追加システムを一つ入れておく事をお勧めします！
